With Transplant, Matali Crasset ventures into unexpected territory. A series of blown glass objects, flower-like forms in round, conical and leaf-shaped variations, each unique, arranged on a wooden base. Transparent and deliberately artificial, they hover somewhere between vase and sculpture, between nature and its opposite.
Transplant raises more questions than it answers about function, decoration, and what we mean by nature and leaves the interpretation, pleasantly, unresolved.
