Ann Demeulemeester _ De juwelen van Ann Demeulemeester
A white feather, a jet-black crow's claw, a glass cylinder filled with diamonds — Ann Demeulemeester has always finished her silhouettes with a touch of surprising poetry. For the first time, a selection of her jewellery is brought together in an exhibition at Casa Argentaurum in Ghent.
Since her first fashion collection in 1985, Demeulemeester has placed great importance on detail, handcraft, and material. Pendants, necklaces, woven bracelets and earrings from her largely unknown jewellery collection are on show, offering a compact historical overview of this hidden side of the Ann Demeulemeester house.
The exhibition scenography mirrors her signature colour language: black and white, where day and night flow seamlessly into one another.
